High-Pressure Pneumatic HPLC Column Packing System for Analytical & Semi-Prep Chromatography
Achieve Uniform Bed Density with Constant Pneumatic Pressure
This Pneumatic HPLC Column Packing System is engineered for laboratories seeking high reproducibility in liquid chromatography separations. Unlike mechanical pumps that may introduce pulsation, our system utilizes compressed air (or Nitrogen) to generate a stable, continuous downward pressure. This constant force is critical for packing chromatography media—including Silica gel and Polymer resins—into columns tightly and uniformly.
Why this system fits your lab
Prevent Voids: The steady pneumatic drive eliminates pressure spikes, significantly reducing the risk of channeling or voids inside the column bed.
Versatile Application: Ideal for packing analytical to semi-preparative columns (e.g., 2.0mm to 50mm ID).
Safety & Simplicity: Operates purely on compressed gas sources (8 bar input), making it spark-free and safe for use with flammable organic solvents like Methanol or Acetonitrile.

Advantages For Isoplex Column Packing System
Powerless Design & Emergency Cut-off Valves
Isoplex column packing system is driven by compressed air. No need for power supply. You can put it everywhere you like.
This machine also has emergency cut-off valves to deal with emergencies.
Small in size, Easy to transport
The size for Isoplex column packing system is about 60cm(L) * 40cm(W) * 30cm(H). It can be put on the labaratory table, fuming cupboard, or even a rolling cart. Gross weight is about 35kg.
We also provide laboratory-grade small-sized integrated air compressor 52cm(L)*61cm(H)*102cm(H) which can improve the utilization rate of space.
Reduce Noise
We are equipped with a silencer and a sound-absorbing sponge inside of the main machine to protect labour health. When using this machine, labourers do not need to wear noise-cancelling headphones or any other ear-protection gear.
Wide range of application
Isoplex column packing system can pack almost all kind of HPLC columns. Innerdiameter from 2.0mm to 50mm, length from 20mm to 500mm.
Seven types of homonate tanks for different types of HPLC columns. Or customized based on your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: How does a pneumatic HPLC packing system improve column efficiency compared to manual packing?
A: A pneumatic system improves efficiency by applying consistent, high-pressure force that manual packing cannot achieve. The compressed air drives the slurry into the column at a constant rate, ensuring a tightly packed bed. This results in sharper peak shapes, higher theoretical plate numbers, and better resolution in your chromatograms.
Q: What gas source is required to operate this packing system?
A: The system requires a standard laboratory compressed air supply or a Nitrogen gas cylinder. It typically operates with an input pressure of 8 bar (approx. 115 psi), which the system’s internal booster amplifies to the required high hydraulic pressure (e.g., 6,000 – 10,000 psi) for packing.
Q: Can this system pack both silica and polymer-based media?
A: Yes, this system is compatible with all standard HPLC stationary phases, including Silica, C18, and Polymer resins. The pressure can be regulated to suit the fragility of specific media, preventing particle crushing while ensuring sufficient compression.
Q: Is this packing station safe for use with explosive solvents?
A: Yes. Since the system is entirely pneumatically driven and requires no electrical power, it is intrinsically safe and explosion-proof. It is ideal for packing processes involving flammable solvents like Hexane, Acetone, or Acetonitrile.
