Different Column Frits For Different Applications
To meet diverse user needs, Biovanix developed three types of sieve plate connectors: sheet-type, PEEK-jacketed, and stainless steel hard-seal sieve plates. The sheet-type is the earliest generation design. The PEEK-jacketed is an optimized upgrade of the sheet-type: when the column head is tightened, the outer PEEK ring deforms under pressure, fills gaps between the metal connector and column tube to ensure a leak-free seal. The stainless steel hard-seal is designed for ultra-high-pressure chromatography columns, with a surface roughness of Ra < 0.2 on its hard-seal contact surface, overcoming PEEK material’s insufficient pressure resistance.
Preparative HPLC Column Tubing
Biovanix has developed threaded column tubes and flanged column tubes tailored for distinct application scenarios. Threaded column tubes feature convenient assembly and disassembly with rapid operability, making them suitable for small-diameter, medium-low pressure applications that require frequent maintenance in laboratory settings. Flanged column tubes, which achieve uniform stress distribution via multiple bolts, exhibit a high pressure-bearing capacity, minimal dead volume, and enhanced structural wear resistance. This type represents the dominant solution for industrial scale-up, large-diameter, and high-pressure preparative separation processes.
