Prepacked HPLC columns are factory-filled, ready-to-use chromatographic columns where the stationary phase (typically chemically modified silica particles) is uniformly packed under high pressure into stainless steel or PEEK tubing.
They work by exploiting differential interactions between analytes, the stationary phase, and the mobile phase. Sample components partition based on hydrophobicity, polarity, charge, or size as the mobile phase is pumped through the column at high pressure. Compounds with stronger affinity for the stationary phase are retained longer, enabling efficient separation, identification, and quantification.
